Awana Recap

The 2015-2016 Awana year was a magnificent display of God’s great work- all of the volunteers that sacrificed their Wednesday evenings, the parents that drove their children to club every week, and the clubbers that memorized Bible verses- it was awesome to see Him in action in our church.

The weekly attendance blew me away.  We had 197 students registered as regular attenders, and several dozens of friends brought that were reached as well!  Each week, the clubbers participated in scripture memorization, a Bible-based object lesson, and everyone’s favorite- game time.

As we enter summer, please continue to pray for the Awana program, and specifically the children that attended the club each week.  About 40% of our students don’t attend FBC, with several not having a church home at all.  Awana may be the only time they hear the message of the Gospel.  Pray for the volunteers as they come alongside these young people and share God’s love with the kids.

The 2016-2017 is fast approaching and we will be in need of a few more volunteers to assist with our growing numbers.  With our Truth & Training director going off to college in the fall, we will also be needing a director for our group of 3rd through 6th grade boys and girls.  Feel free to email me at jrkbear@gmail.com or the FBC Office at office@fbcmedford.com if you are feeling led to serve.  We are already getting ready to see what God is going to do in Awana next year!
