SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES | 8:30 AM & 10:45 AM

May is National Foster Care Month (and why that matters for the church)

Did you know? Over 390,000 children and youth are in foster care in the United States alone. Additionally, nationally 50% of foster families stop fostering just after their first year or first placement. Behind each number is a story—of resilience, change, uncertainty, and hope.

Sometimes the needs and numbers are daunting.

But what if help was simply a meal?

What if help was committing to intentionally pray for a family?

What if help is listening to the complexities they carry?

Community matters: 90% of families who have a caring community surrounding them continue to foster beyond that first year!

Watch this brief video to get a glimpse of a typical foster child’s journey in our country and the needs they have.

We have an opportunity to support families and kids who are a part of foster care through WELCOMED@FBC. Welcomed is a Family Advocacy Ministry that reaches out and supports vulnerable children and their families.  If you have a heart for the vulnerable kids in Taylor county, you’re invited to an informational meeting on Sunday, June 8th during the Sunday School Hour to connect with Laura Hoffert and learn how we plan to serve vulnerable children together.

Additionally: Save the date for Sunday, June 22 after church from noon-1:30 for a light lunch and orientation.
