“A sure foundation for our times” (Isaiah 33:6).
Most people would want this… a foundation to stand on, to live their lives on. And, knowing it is sure means its steadfast & trustworthy. It won’t crumble beneath us. Isaiah tells us this sure foundation is a rich store of salvation, wisdom & knowledge. The key to this treasure is the fear of the Lord.
The book of Isaiah is big & covers alot, but it is full of good news! Find Isaiah 33:6 & read the whole verse. Isaiah speaks of trusting God’s voice versus the world; he reminds us that god reigns & one day will restore His reign on the earth; God will gather His people & lead them; He comforts fears & sorrows & assures us of rest & peace in Him. Most importantly, Isaiah points forward to the coming of Jesus, forming a bridge between the OT & the NT.
Come, let us walk the bridge together & glean from the main themes of Isaiah. We’ll take a highlights tour & allow God to prove that He is our sure foundation, that He is the rich source of our salvation & allow Him to move & lead us to do Isaiah 40:9. Go & announce to all that we connect with & say “Here is your God”! And, see the good work that God will do.
