Should I come?
All mothers are invited, regardless of church background or affiliation. Moms in any season of motherhood are welcome. New moms are welcome to join anytime throughout the year. We hope you will join us!
What should we expect given current COVID-19 circumstances?
We are following the governor’s mandate for masks and are following social distancing as much as possible. There will not be snacks served as we have done in the past. Also, we are unable to offer childcare at this time. We are currently planning to gather just as moms for an evening together.
*Typically, we have a morning meeting time and provide childcare for children from birth through age 5. We hope to go back to this model when we are able! If you have an infant you need to have with you during our meetings, we completely understand!
Does my child need to be potty trained?
When childcare is provided*, our nursery is staffed and equipped to change diapers or handle any bathroom needs. We do provide pagers in case the nursery volunteers would need to contact Mom for any feeding or other needs.
When childcare is provided*, children in the preschool room have access to a bathroom at all times, however the volunteers are not equipped to change diapers. Children wearing diapers/pull ups are welcome in the preschool room, but Mom will be paged if there is a need for a change during the meeting time.
What if I want my child to stay with me?
The purpose of M&Ms is to provide a few kid-free hours for moms to connect and grow. However, we’re all moms and understand that sometimes our children just need to be with us. We try to provide a very informal and comfortable environment for everyone. If you have a newborn, or other child who you would prefer to keep with you, you are welcome to do so.
There is a nursing room & napping room available next to the nursery if you are looking for a private, quiet place. We provide pagers in case the nursery volunteers would need to contact Mom for any feeding or other needs during the meeting time.
What about older children?
When childcare is provided*, supervised care is available for children from birth to age 5. Older children are welcome, but should bring a self-directed activity.
There’s bad weather. Is the meeting still on?
In the case of bad weather, it is our policy to follow the direction of the Medford School District. If they cancel school, we will cancel M&Ms; if they delay school, we will cancel M&Ms; if school is on, M&Ms is on.
In the case of a cancellation, we will send out a group email stating the cancellation and post it on our Facebook page. In any case, we encourage our moms to use their own discretion when it comes to dangerous roads.
Wherever you are on your journey of motherhood, we hope you will join us!
