Small Groups
There is nothing more basic
to Christianity than these 4 powerful words: Love God, Love Others.
That is the essence of what Jesus taught, lived, died, and rose again
for. Scot McKnight in his book The Jesus Creed explores this powerful
teaching. In his first section he digs into the elements of The Jesus
Creed which is love God, love others. In the following sections
McKnight looks at how the Jesus Creed is played out in the lives of
people in the Bible, in the life of Christ, and in the teachings of
Christ. There are 30 chapters that are all less than 10 pages, a great
amount of reading for daily devotions over a cup of coffee.
FBC Small groups are starting up again and will be reading The Jesus Creed together starting February 18 for 6 weeks. The small groups will be centered around discussion of the topics brought up in that week’s section of the book. Small groups meet in homes usually on Sunday nights. We try to put people into groups based on geography and life stage.
Joining a small group is a great way to get to know other people at church, dig deeper in your faith, and just enjoy some good fellowship. If you are interested in joining a small group, you can sign up at the information table at church, or reply to this e-mail with your name, address, phone, and night that would work best for you to be in a group. Books may be purchased the first night of the small group for $11.00. If you have any questions, feel free to call or e-mail Pastor Randy at pospisil@fbcmedford.com.
