One of my favorite authors writes: “...faith is something
you do, not something you think.” Have you ever thought of faith that
way? The Bible tells us to be doers of the Word, not just hearers only.
Faith is an active process that develops over time. Like a muscle that
grows with use, so faith grows as we step out in it.
FBC’s Faith Development Class is a venue for
you to exercise your faith muscle. You will be challenged through
hearing the Bible taught, and getting even more insight into
theological and biblical understanding. You will be challenged to apply
the message of the Bible to your own life, and to live the victorious
Christian life.
Faith Development Class is open to all people,
whether you are still exploring what it means to be a Christian, new to
the Christian faith, or a veteran of the Christian life. At Faith
Development Class you will gain new insights into spirituality and the
Bible, and have an opportunity to discuss and ask questions in a safe
and friendly environment. Faith
Development Class is for those that want to go deeper, stretch
themselves further, and discover a life of faith that works.
What will we do at Faith Development
Class?
Prayer
"Prayer is our greatest work." Since this is our heart statement, we
will take time to corporately pray for our church, our community and
our world. Many people have issues with public speaking, so “out-loud”
prayer is not a requirement by any means to participate in this module.
Hot Topics
Does prayer make any difference? Phillip Yancey has written a book
about the subject, and we are going to be discussing just what prayer
is all about in our hot topics series. You can purchase the book from
the church, or through Amazon.com. Then come and discuss with us prayer
and how it really works.
Bible Study - Introduction to Theology
The central figure of Christianity and history is the person of Jesus
Christ. We are studying his life and ministry on earth in-depth this
fall. This class is ideal for people that are new to the Christian
faith or to those that have been Christians for years.
