Ministry to Kids

The most valuable inheritance we can pass on to our children is a
God-saturated view of life. Jesus rightly taught that “life is more
than food, and the body more than clothing” (Luke 12:23). The essence
of life is not these things that seem so essential to us. The essence
is something greater. Jesus calls himself (not food, money,
relationships, …) the “bread of life” (John 6:35). Knowing Jesus,
glorying in Jesus, and enjoying Jesus is the essence of life. If we
miss this in our lives, we miss life. We will remain a slave to sin now
(with all the pain that entails) and will die in our sins (with all the
misery that entails). Even as we strive to live in this truth, we yearn
for our children to be changed by this truth as well. It is not only
our own children who need to gain this God-saturated view of life, but
also our neighbor’s children.
One method to winsomely share God’s glory with children is through a
summer ministry to kids. This might be a vacation Bible school, a
backyard Bible club, or something we haven’t thought of yet. We are
looking for a person (or a small team of people) to lead this ministry.
